Microaggressions are verbal and non-verbal slights and insults that are often conveyed out of ignorance or even with good intentions. Though everyone has various unconscious biases, marginalized groups are more likely to experience microaggressions. Participants review common everyday microaggressions based on gender, race, national origin, ability, religion and sexual orientation and their negative effects on productivity, teamwork, and employee well-being.. Using interactive scenarios, participants gain greater self-awareness of the harms caused by microaggressions and learn how to adopt best practices to create micro-affirming and inclusive cultures.
